On a lovely Bastille Day — July 14, 2002 — a group of 15 people spent the day together on Long Island, in Casco Bay where we had rented a cottage for an all-day French immersion program. People had been assigned a character to play in a murder mystery game and debarked in costume before 9:00 am to the surprise of other island visitors that day… They also carried a large French flag which added a bit of mystery and à propos to the scene. Lunch on deck, afternoon activities at the beach, and singing of La Marseillaise before saying goodbye! A perfect day…
