Since offering its first classes in 1992 in downtown Portland, Maine, The Language Exchange has grown significantly to include approximately twenty on-site language instructors teaching twelve languages.
The Language Exchange offers language training to the local community, tailored to skill level and learning capabilities. In addition to offering dynamic and intensive small-sized weekly group classes, The Language Exchange also offers private and semi-private instruction, weekend language and cultural workshops, children's classes and summer camps, ethnic social events and monthly cultural seminars for both beginners and advanced students.

- Our small classes: Class size is limited to no more than 10 students for adults and 7 students for children’s classes.

For most business purposes, the study of languages is tax-deductible (Ask for a receipt if you would like one.) Take advantage of our early registration 10% discount and senior discount.
- Our year round endeavor: We offer you 3 or 4 sessions a year, each one lasting 8 to 10 weeks. New programs are added every semester. If you have a request for a new program, we will take it into consideration.
